We are a small team who met as roommates at UC San Diego. We love going to the beach, whether it be for surfing, snorkeling, boogie boarding, or just playing around! However, the more we learned about stingrays, the more worried we became. Sharks are the most infamous ocean creatures, but stingrays are a more realistic threat—at some beaches there are literally dozens of stings a day. We wanted a product that could protect us from stingray stings, but we couldn’t find any great options online. We asked friends if they had heard of a product to protect from stingray stings, and they said they hadn’t – but they wanted one too! With our background in engineering and business we set out to solve this problem and protect beachgoers from injury. We’ve come a long way since then, developing and manufacturing a product, applying for patents, and doing the tasks that come along with running a business. But some things haven’t changed since day one – we still love solving real-world problems, and watching the sun set over the waves.
